Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Skoura

Leave the ochre-coloured city of Marrakech behind and head towards the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass, observing everyday life in remote rural villages. In the afternoon, visit the fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, one of the finest examples of South Moroccan architecture, boasting one of Morocco's well-preserved kasbahs. Your journey continues via Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa, with movies like Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Star Wars having been filmed here. Today, you will overnight in Skoura, a fertile oasis lined with immense palm groves that provide great views of the Atlas Mountains. Overnight at a Boutique Riad or Hotel in Skoura

Day 2: Dades – Todgha – Merzouga

Today, explore the famous Kasbah Amridil, then head towards the road of a thousand Kasbahs to the Sahara Desert, en route passing through the dry, rugged Boumalne Dades. Todra Gorge, known as the Grand Canyon of the Sahara, is a massive trench that rises over 300 meters to form one of the most dramatic and breathtaking natural sights in Morocco. The limestone stacks make a perfect area for hiking, so today you will take a short walk through the sheer cliffs. Late afternoon, you will settle into the luxury desert camp in Merzouga. The stunning reddish-hued sand dunes can reach up to 150 meters high, creating an otherworldly landscape. Enjoy your camel ride for around 45 minutes during sunset. Then, return to your camp for a traditional dinner before a campfire. Slumber tonight in comfort, listening to the sounds of the desert. Overnight at a Boutique Riad or Hotel in Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

Day 3: Rissani – Nkoube – Alnif – Agdz

Today, explore one of the famous cities in the south of Morocco, RISSANI. This location at the gates of the desert, at the crossroads of two of the most important trans-Saharan routes and a few kilometers from a river and an oasis was the major reason for building the tradepost of Sijilmasa here in the middle of the 8th century, on the outskirts of modern-day Rissani. After that, continue to NKOUBE for a lunch break, then head to a lonely stretch of desert road in southeastern Morocco, Alnif, and the surrounding basin, known for collecting the prehistoric creatures known as trilobites. After enjoying our time there, continue to Agdz. The city lies at the foot of Djebel Kissane and on the banks of the river Draa. A long oasis stretches between Agdz and Zagora. Villages have been built around the old kasbahs, and green palm groves are spread along the road. Overnight at a Boutique Riad or Hotel in Agdz

Day 4: Ait Saoun – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast, we start a new adventure through the Djbel Kissane before reaching Ouarzazate. Known as the door to the desert, Ouarzazate is a small town in the High Atlas mountains of south-central Morocco and was used as the port of Pentos, one of the Free Cities in Game of Thrones. At the end of the day, we will finish our adventure in the same place where we started, in the red city of Marrakech.
