Day 1: Marrakech Arrival
Upon arrival in Marrakech, the red city of Morocco and its tourism hub, your private driver will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Day 2: Marrakech Guided Tour
Today, you will visit Marrakech, the tourism capital of Morocco. Your local guide will accompany you to the 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque, the beautiful El Bahia Palace, Majorelle Garden, and Ben Youssef Madrasa. Then, explore the narrow streets of the souks bazaars leading to Jamaa El Fna Square, the famous market square in Marrakech's old quarter, complete with storytellers, magicians, food stalls, and snake charmers. Day 3: Excursion to Essaouira
Today, you'll head to Essaouira, a completely different side of Morocco on the Atlantic coastline. With your guide, explore an authentic medieval seaside town with a North African feel. Visit this charming artist colony featuring white-washed and blue-shuttered houses, colonnades, thuya wood workshops, art galleries, and delicious seafood. Take a stroll through the town's old medina, Jewish mellah, fishing harbor, and Skala du Port, offering breathtaking views of Essaouira. Day 4: Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura
Leave Marrakech and head toward the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka pass to observe daily life in remote rural villages. In the afternoon, visit the fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, one of the finest examples of South Moroccan architecture, housing one of Morocco's best-preserved kasbahs. Your journey continues through Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa, where movies like Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Star Wars were filmed. Day 5: Dades – Todgha – Sahara Desert
Explore the famous Kasbah Amridil today and then head toward the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to reach the Sahara Desert. En route, pass through the dry, rugged Boumalne Dades. Todra Gorge, known as the 'Grand Canyon of the Sahara,' is a massive trench rising over 300 meters to form one of the most dramatic and breathtaking natural sights in Morocco. The limestone stacks make for perfect hiking, and today you will take a short walk through the sheer cliffs. Late afternoon, you'll settle into a luxury desert camp in Merzouga. The stunning reddish-hued sand dunes can reach up to 150 meters high, creating an otherworldly landscape. Enjoy a 45-minute camel ride at sunset, and return to your camp for a traditional dinner by the campfire. Sleep comfortably to the sounds of the desert. Day 6: Sahara Desert – Fes
Depart from Fes and head toward the Middle Atlas mountains. Pass through Ifrane, a stunning ski resort known as "Little Switzerland," on the way up the Atlas Mountains. You'll also see Azrou's cedar forests and Berber apes. Stop for lunch in Midelt, known for apple production. Drive through the Ziz Valley, known for its enormous palm trees and date production, as you descend through the Atlas Mountains. Day 7: Fes Guided Tour
Today, you'll visit Fes, the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco. Your local guide will lead you through the oldest continuously operating medina in the world, often referred to as a "living museum." Travel back in time in the maze-like medina, bustling with artisans, markets, tanneries, and mosques. Explore the specialized areas that divide the souk while passing donkeys carrying goods (this is one of the largest car-free urban zones in the world with 9,000 narrow streets). You'll discover the Royal Palace, Blue Gate, Clock Tower, Bou Inania Madrasa, Nejjarine Fountain, Oldest University Al Quaraouiyine, Tanneries, Borj Sud, and experience Moroccan artworks, Berber carpets, zellige tiles, and ceramics. Day 8: Meknes – Volubilis – Chefchaouen
This morning, you will discover Chefchaouen, a charming village characterized by its striking blue color, nestled between two mountains known as Ech-Chaoua (The Horns), from which it derives its name. The village features steep, winding streets lined with white and indigo buildings, adorned with intricate fountains, and homes with ornately carved doors and red tile roofs. Afterward, you'll visit Tetouan's historic medina, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Continue to Tangier for the night and explore the Phoenician Tombs and historic medina. Day 9: Tangier – Rabat
This morning, you will tour Cape Spartel and Hercules Cave. Afterward, you'll visit Asilah, a town south of Tangier on Morocco's Atlantic coast, known for its arts and a medina surrounded by Portuguese colonial ramparts and gates from the 15th century. Proceed to the capital of Morocco, the Moorish city of Rabat, where you will visit the Mohammed V Mausoleum and the Royal Palace, serving as the King's formal residence.
